Tigers Be Still

Synopsis:
Tigers Be Still is a comedy that follows the misadventures of Sherry Wickman, a young woman who recently completed a degree in Art Therapy and is determined to succeed in using art to heal her fellow man. Now if only her mother would come downstairs, her sister would get off the couch, her patient would do just one of his take-home assignments, her boss would leave his gun at home, and someone would catch the tiger that escaped from the local zoo, everything would be just perfect.

Seeking the following roles:

  • Grace

    : (29) Sherry's sister who has taken up permanent residence on the couch. Dealing with personal issues, she refuses to leave the house and spends her time watching TV and drinking.

     

  • Joseph

    : (50) Sherry's boss, the principal of the school, dealing with his own grief and struggles. Has a habit of bringing a gun to work.

     

  • Sherry

    : (24) The optimistic protagonist. Recently graduated with a degree in Art Therapy and is determined to put it to use, despite the chaotic circumstances surrounding her.

     

  • Zack

    : (18) Joseph's son, one of Sherry's first patients. He’s troubled and rebellious but slowly opens up throughout the play.

Audition Details:

  • Audition Date:

    • Saturday, November 16 from 3 pm-7 pm

  • Callbacks:

    • Sunday, November 17 from 3 pm-7 pm

  • Audition Requirements:

    • Prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue. 

Rehearsal Information:

  • First rehearsal: Monday, December 11.

  • No rehearsals will be held during the weeks of December 23 through January 3.

  •  

    Regular rehearsals will take place Monday through Thursday, 7 pm-10 pm, with occasional Saturday rehearsals as needed.

     

Show Dates:

  • February 7 – 23 (Friday and Saturday evenings, Sunday matinees).

Stipend:
Each performer will receive a $150 stipend.
